Amrei Grund

Amrei Grund has accomplished her bachelor thesis on the skeleton fluid inclusion stable isotope composition of (cold-water) corals. Thanks to her excellent work, using the fluid inclusion isotope line together with Yao Wu, a major methodological issue causing systematic isotope fractionation during sample preparation was overcome. Thus, Amrei could demonstrate a strong hydrogen isotope effect, a small oxygen isotope effect, and first glacial interglacial isotope changes in free skeleton fluid waters from corals taken off Angola. The results will be presented soon on the international Goldschmidt Conference in Lyon. We congratulate Amrei for her fantastic achievment and examplary work, and we wish you all the best for your future career.
