Radiocarbon and tracer for fossil CO2  Teaching

14C-TRACE is involved in teaching environmental physics with the following contributions

  • Organisation of the Master's seminar in Environmental Physics (MVSem):

In the Master's seminar in Environmental Physics, students explore current research questions in detail and then give a 45-minute presentation on this topic. Afterwards, what they have learned is summarised in a written report.

  • Carrying out the ‘Environmental Radioactivity’ experiment in the advanced practical course:

This experiment provides an introduction to the measurement technique of (natural) radioactivity and an insight into the use of radioactive isotopes as tracers in environmental research.

  • Advanced seminar: Carbon cycle and neighbouring areas:

In the advanced seminar, the ¹⁴C-Tracer group members discuss current questions and problems for better observation-based quantification of the carbon cycle.
