Grundwater and Paleoclimate - Methods

Our methods can be divided in two large groups, which reflect the applications in our research: Methods to date young (ground) waters (for research on problems of groundwater resource management) and methods to study old groundwaters (for paleoclimate research). All these methods are so-called environmental tracer methods. This means that we use trace substances, which are already present in the environment, whether due to natural sources of emissions of our civilization.

Among the following links further information on the different methods can be found, as well as a description of the phenomenon of excess air, which is important for many methods, and an extensive literature list on environmental tracer methods in aquatic systems.
