Talks of the day:

1) Prof. Dr. Kamal Dahab, Geology Department of Menoufia University, Shebin El-Kom, on "Hydrogeological evaluation of Nubian Sandstone aquifer in some new development areas, Western Desert – Monitoring and management of groundwater resources in Egypt". Prof. Dahab is guest of Prof. Dr. Aeschbach-Hertig, Environmental Physics. His stay is dedicated to extend the research activities of research group I on Egypt and to intensivy collaboration.

2) Dr. Mohamed Youssef, Desert Research Center, Cairo "Water resource development in Ras el Hekma, NW coast of Egypt". Dr. Youssef is DAAD postdoc scholarship holder and will stay from January to June 2010 at the chair of Prof. Dr. Bubenzer, Physical Geography. Besides establishing cooperation, all participants of the research group will benefit from his regional expertice on the field of water resources during that period.

Short presentations of ca. 5 min., containing information on the current stage of work, are requested to be held by the Ph.D. candidate, the project leader or the representative of the research group.
